Antique Japanese stoneware storage jar. Hand built with ribs in the wall as the potter raised the
thick walls. Built with stoneware with many mineral inclusions now oxidized to limed spots across the lower quarter and around the interior. Flat bottom. Glazed in a thin satin glaze that is barely more than the polished stoneware itself. Handmade irregularities are the mark of Japanese Pottery wares. A beautiful example of the storage jar. The size is 9.75" tall and 7.25" wide.
