It has fabulous cut designs in iron panels on the front and repetitive design on the sides and lovely wrought iron base with a thick marble top with a matching tiny wrought iron chair. The doors open to a cavity with a hinged small metal piece that would have been used to write a note when the doors were open. There is a round metal piece in the back that would have been opened to place the candlestick phone in the stand (cords were not removable then).

Times have changed and we do not need telephone stands any more but this would be wonderfully re-purposed as a back bar to hold liquor or as a vanity to hold a mirror and accessories. It would be lovely in many capacities and will add beauty to any space.

There is a chip to the marble in the front (as I have shown in the last photo) but it is so hard to see with all that is going on in this piece and there is a lovely aged patina to the finish with losses and imperfections. The panels with the velvet fabric can be removed and changed. The red velvet is faded wonderfully with the pattern on the front and sides.

The dimensions are: The height to the top of the back splash is 53, inches to the top of the marble is 48 inches, The width of the base is 24 inches, back of the top is 21 1/2 inches, of the front of the top is 16 1/2 inches, the depth of the cabinet is 10 inches and of the base is 12 inches. The sweet chair that accompanies it is 34 inches to the top of the back and 16 inches to the seat. See less
