The hallmarks indicate … Read more This is a very nice English sterling sliver filigree holder with a faux tortoise liner and cover. The hallmarks indicate it was made in Birmingham by Deacon & Francis but I am not sure of the date. The plastic has dried with age and is discolored but there are no breaks. The dresser box is 2 5/8 inches in height and 2 3/4 in diameter. There was a monogram on the very top, it has worn considerably and is illegible but the embossed frame around it is lovely. See less
