It is made from fine .900 silver, and has developed a lovely patina that speaks to its place in history.

I rarely come across cast miniature figurines, let alone those sitting atop an antique wax seal, with such fine craftsmanship; you'll typically see more nebulous features (the legs would be "attached" as though part of a single stump; the arms would be "plastered" to the figure's sides; etc.). In contrast, this wax seal shows incredible dimension and detail, down to the asymmetrically curved individual feathers of the cherub's wings and his precise and elegant facial features!

The oval matrix bears a highly stylized interlaced monogram of two capital letters (initials).
