"Crime and Punishment" is a British television adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel of the same name. It aired as a miniseries on PBS Masterpiece Theatre in 1979. In this adaptation, John Hurt portrayed the protagonist, Rodion Raskolnikov, a troubled and impoverished former student who commits a brutal murder and grapples with the psychological and moral consequences of his actions.
