A good antique American walnut Renaissance Revival writing table desk, circa 1875.
The table demonstrating the influence of the Aesthetic Movement and designers such as Charles Eastlake. The table top having the original brown tooled inset leather writing surface, below is a single long locking drawer. The base having two X frame supports at each side with incised carving & circular carved roundels, to the center is one large roundel with four carved urn shaped finials.
The table having a single horizontal stretcher with rasied circular studs to the center and the desk is rasied on the original ceramic castors.
The writing table is in very good original antique condition, it is finished on each side including the rear so the desk can be in the middle of a room as well as against a wall.
