It measures 20" high x 15" wide x 15" deep. Across the top opening and lip is 15". The Diameter is 46" around. Ceramic is Hand Thrown with Very Thick Walls making is durable and heavy.
Made by Gialletti & Pimpinelli.
Signed on the bottom G. & P. Made in Italy.
The Studio is in Deruta on the Tiber River near Perugia, Italy. They use the River sediment to create a masterful Ceramic.
Deruta, in Italian, means Majolica Ware.
11 plus colors handpainted on this extra large orcio.
It could stand alone or use a glass top for a side table or fill it with vines / tree branches / flowers or an umbrella holder.
No matter how you use this jar will be Eye Catching because of its huge size and Bright Colors.
It is handpainted in the Traditional Renaissance Ware that de Medici family used.
The inside is glazed white.
The Body is Yellow.
It has a Black Cartouche on each side Filled with Grapes, Pears, Apples, Flowers and Vines with leaves and tendrils.
Each side has a beautiful scroll work design of Blue & White. Inside the architectural element is a pattern of reddish-brown lattice.
The Lattice pattern is also around the neck of the Jar.
The flared lip and the bottom of edge have stripes of green, brown and blue.
They are becoming increasingly Rare.
This Jar is used. There are no imperfections.
