The finest most exquisite workmanship with all kinds of multicolored hand made and applied enamel decorations with gilt gold bronze five clawed dragon adornments. The attention to detail and mastery of the workmanship indicates that this vase must have been an Imperial commissioned piece during the 19th century ( note that even the inside of the mouth of the vase is crafted meticulously with floral cloisonne inlay). Provenance: private collection of a New York city collector of important Asian Chinese and Japanese arts/antiques which includes Jade , netsuke from the 18th century , ming dynasty porcelain, coral jeweled casket and more.. The large scale ( 24 inches tall with a bulbous body) of this vase with its museum quality artistry also suggests it was always intended for Imperial palace display. See less
