A beautiful rare original extra large Japanese History School poster. It came with a collection of 18 posters published in Japan, which were banned after the end of WW2 by the general headquarters of the allied forces. It was used in Japan, before the end of WWII. This poster is depicting one of the Emperors of Japan meeting with a monk and Emperor's warriors, horses and pine trees. Published between in early 1900-1940s. It was used in schools in Japan before 1945. After WW2 it was banned. Brought to the US by a military staff member stationed in Japan after WW2. Mat for display only.
Printed on one side. Fair condition - age wear, the lower right corner is missing, repair on back and at the top right corner, age wear. Japan, c. 1900-1940s.
