Native El Salvadoran Tribal Indian protective Eagle or Bird. Black geometric outlines are raised and surround shapes painted very vivid shades of Red,Blue, Yellow, Green and Orange

Once fired, a glossy finished is applied.

Since his death, his daughter, who presented some of his work to me, over the years, preserves his legacy and foundation within El Salvador and exhibits her father's work internationally.

Limited pieces come to market these days.

I have been a devout fan of Mr Llort for decades.

His artistry reflects his personal exuberance and celebration of life.

About the artist
Fernando Llort, as he was known, was a Salvadoran artist, often dubbed "El Salvador's National Artist" by the Foundation for Self Sufficiency in Central America.

As reflected in his exuberant artwork, Llort was a man of passion, spirituality, religion, community, and idealism.

His artwork is predominately imagery, often local scenery and religious iconography, that are hand-painted upon fired, three dimensional pottery, and finished with a high gloss glaze.

Many of his designs use an abstract interpretation of his native Salvadoran countryside, with religious and spiritual iconography. See less
