This is 4 antique volumes of The Imperial Gallery of British Art. An English, illustrated folio of steel engravings, dating to the Victorian period, published by Cassell & Company in 1887.
Full Title: The Imperial Gallery of British Art, Illustrated By Forty-Eight Examples of Eminent Artists. Engraved on Steel after the Line Manner.
Further detail to rear indicates each engraving plate would be destroyed after the limited run, and this four volume edition was available through subscription only.
