Exquisitely hand-crafted in France in the early 20th century, exceptionally executed in sophisticated King Louis 16th taste, having a dramatically veined marble top, over glazed glass front and side panels, opening to single glass shelf and mirrored back, over ribbed cabinet door in striking rare and exotic figured kingwood, opening to reveal a sectioned fitted interior, flanked by finely chased and chiseled doré bronze mounts, and diamond matched parquetry-work side panels, rising on short cabriole legs, ending in sabots. circa 1900

Signed, retaining the original stamped maker's mark at back, Krieger Paris

Maison Krieger:
Maison Krieger was founded by Antoine and Nicolas Krieger in Paris in 1826. Producing and taking part in major exhibitions of the 19th century, including the Exposition Universelle and the 1849 Exposition des Produits de l'Industrie in Paris. Receiving a medal for their exhibition at the Universal Exhibitions of 1851 in London, and again in 1855, Paris. Maison Krieger created many pieces in Louis XV and Louis XVI styles, as well as 18th century and Empire designs. Maison Krieger is recorded to have been an active client of François Linke.

Condition:
A superb example, in excellent antique condition. Presents splendidly, with nicely aged warm patina. Minor wear commensurate with age and use. Delivered cleaned, waxed, hand polished, ready for immediate use and generational enjoyment! See less
