- I have taken every side of both vases along with the top of one and bottom of the other. The … moreI have taken every side of both vases along with the top of one and bottom of the other. The top of the vase shown has a chip, which you can also see in the first photo. Most of the brown you're seeing in the top shot is chipped glaze. The actual chip to the pottery is rather small. The bottom of the vase shown has a crack, as shown, which most likely occurred during its making. And of course you can see some chipping to the glaze. I have seen many 17th and 18th century Delft pieces over the years and, comparatively, these are in amazing condition with most of the glaze chipping to the top and bottom rims. less
