(See others offered in … Read more This is one of several 1899 antique chromolithograph "sunflower" botanicals that we recently purchased in Paris. (See others offered in our shop.) It showcases the a hybrid "Gaillardia" best known to us as the "Blanket Flower". It is shown in wonderful vibrant color with great detailing in both the buds, blossoms and leaves. It is signed by the artist on lower right side of the plant. The chromolithograph is in pristine clean condition with no age markings. Note the unusual shading feature of the leaves and the dark background of the paper, both of which add a richness and depth to the botanical. 10.75 x 7.75 inches in size. See less
