The original is at Cluny museum, This tapestry is part of a series of three pieces, commonly called The Noble Pastoral Tapestry: "pastoral" because it describes various activities of shepherds and shepherdesses, and "noble" because it mainly depicts young lords and nobles ladies who play shepherds. These "sheepfolds" were very fashionable at the end of the Middle Ages throughout Europe. See less
