A 1960's upright iron and leather wine rack designed by Arthur Umanoff and made by Shaver Howard. The solid iron frame supports three wooden shelves and one laminate shelf with woven nylon / basket enclosure. The rack was designed to accommodate 38 bottles of wine.
The original design of this rack has an open top. A previous owner had created an additional solid piece of wood that can be placed on top and clipped into place. This extra piece not only serves as a top shelf, but appears to have been added to help store/hang stemware (there are 8 dowels that were likely utilized to store 4 rows of stemware). Please see close-up photos for details. This top can be added or removed very easily.
