This Louis XV style bureau plat is 19th century reproduction, likely Napoleon III, of high quality. Marquetry and burl-wood veneers cover most of the body of this desk. Ormolu (gilt bronze) is featured on the cabriole legs, feet, at the corners, along the top rim and as drawer pulls. Metal rims define the drawers/apron and burl-wood cartouches. The top is leather bordered by marquetry. There are 3 drawers.
This bureau plat is in very good original condition. There are minor losses to the marquetry, and gilding has worn off of the drawer pulls. Wear is consistent with age and use. There is no key.
