Exceptional piece of American studio pottery by well known artist, Malcolm Wright of Vermont. Undated, we believe this piece was made in the 1980s.
Impressively large and skillfully thrown, this piece is a perfect addition to most any decor. The ovoid form is made from stoneware and the finish showcases the artist's brushwork skills from apprenticeships with Japanese masters in the late 1960s.
Measures 13.5"x 17.25". In excellent condition with very faint, age related crazing. No chips or cracks. This vase has both the incised artist "W" mark as well as the chopmark at the low edge.
