This … Read more An Italian carved-wood table with lyre legs and iron stretcher from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique table from Italy, in typical "fratino" fashion, features a rectangular-shaped wood top raised upon a pair of beautifully-carved lyre shaped trestle legs, which are braced by a pair of curved forged-iron stretcher bars (together creating a lovely arch shape within the underside space of the table). The apron houses a pair of recessed-panel drawers along one long side, fitted with a single rococo style brass escutcheon keyhole at their center. The skirt is decoratively carved about all sides-making it an piece which could be floated within a room. The lyre-carved trestle legs terminate into volute feet. The wood is rich and dark with a nicely aged patina; a wonderful reflective of it's history and use. This late 18th century Italian fratino is approximately 4.5 feet wide, which gives it much versatility for function and use within your home. See less
