Antique, English-Regency Madeleine Castaing style two-tier cart or étagère. Marked "B" on reverse. Caster's have patented markings indicative of 19th c. Victorian furniture. There is a same étagère in a photograph of a room in Madeleine Castaing's shop Paris's St. Germain de Pres. "House and Garden, 1966" - its next to a piano as a liquor cart. Equally special is another story, once belonging to today’s tastemaker and art collectors Carolina and (ex-husband) Ian Irving. Carolina is a renowned textile designer, Creative Director of Home for Oscar De La Renta, former Editor at Elle Décor, House and Garden, and Vogue Living. Ian is an internationally known master in English and European silver, also known for his exceptional taste, expertise and style.
