Valley Walk and Talk 5
An expressive and skillful execution of a mid-century modern figurative panoramic landscape oil painting on canvas paper.
The composition captures the essence of a quiet conversation between two women and their young pups.
They are beautifully rendered in vintage coats, hats, and gloves, reminiscent of a bygone era.
This is realism with a small "R" as all realist details are simplified for a more semi-abstract painterly feel. Nevertheless, the elements of art are informative and lend to an overall impressionistic, expressive composition with an emphasis on theme, brushstroke and color.
The color palette is masterfully layered; soft, and muted with touches of yellow and pink. It is a surprising palette that also creates an air of mystery.
Confident brush work showcases a level of excellence, skill and an emotional connection to this scene.

The vintage mid-century modern frame is a lovely finishing touch for this contemporary painting. The frame has some age related wear and imperfections.
The Flemish Renaissance, Mughal portraiture, Classicism and Cubism are primary references for my work. The subject always begins in the representational form with a contrasting background. Through layers of paint and glazing, the work evolves into the abstract or remains representational. Although divergent in process, each painting unfolds from a deeply intuitive, personal and imaginative narrative. Whether portrait, figurative, still life or landscape, the true subject is always; beauty, form, color and spacial relationships.
This was initially painted as a study to prepare for a large scale painting that has sold. The scene has also been featured on a silk scarves.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
