This is a wonderful folk art box with loads of character! The top of the box is hand carved and has wonderful scalloped shapes and a central heart, surrounded by inlaid hears for added whimsy. The lid of the box is banded in boxwood and follows down to simple sides and the front panel is also inlaid in boxwood. There is a central frame in which is enclosed another lovely heart over a crossed knife and fork, and a diamond below. This box was made by someone with love and caring for its place in a home.
