These little figurines have a wide range of historical significance, most of all they glorify the female figure, the woman, the giver of life. This artwork was created on hand dyed cotton French paper by artist Martha Holden. The figure is made gold leaf, watercolor and ink on paper. She trained at the Cranbrook Academy of art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Later she lived and worked in France for 20 years. She had numerous shows and exhibitions in private galleries as well as in a few Chateaux's in France. Her work has been collected privately and publicly as well. Her work can be found in many television and movie productions. This wonderful piece of art will fit a standard size frame. Several of the photos show the art in a room setting. Signed "Holden" lower right. Presented in a plastic presentation sleeve, shipped flat and delivered by UPS. See less
