This antique table from Italy, approximately 6.25 … Read more A meticulously carved-wood Italian table with inlaid marble top from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy, approximately 6.25 feet in length, features a 2" thick, rectangular-shaped marble top (which is likely even older than the table base) that has an inlaid (not framed, but actually inlaid) design consisting of several marble varieties. The top is presented upon a wooden base with robust trestle-style legs having a heart-like shape at their centers, embellished with volute and foliate accents, and raised upon a pair of rail style platforms that have beautiful paw-carved feet at each out-facing end. There is a nicely-carved center stretcher that runs along the center at underside of the table. The marble top has a green, black, gold and off-white color palette. Note that there are some scratches, chips, stains, and prior repairs to the marble - a true reflection of its age and history. The wooden base breaks down into several pieces, making for easier transport and installation. This 18th century Italian inlaid marble top trestle leg table would be perfect floated within a room, or as a grand center table in a foyer- this is truly a statement piece! See less
