It is the first time we have the image in our many years of collecting. The print originally came from a French magazine that dates to 1971. It is NOT a recent reproduction print. It features "eyes by Dior" and was the alluring advertisement for Dior cosmetics and makeup. The image is captivating and seductive. It has a strong visual and arresting impact with the masked face exposing the beauty of Dior's latest makeup line. The print was illustrated and signed by the iconic Rene Gruau with his signature "g" initial. Gruau had a long career, best known for his use of strong color and graphic line styling in his advertising and fashion illustrations. The creative friendship between Christian Dior and Rene Gruau was a collaboration which celebrated a special spirit and continued for many years even after Dior's death in 1957.
