The top shelf depicts a beautifully inlaid bird on a branch with twigs and acorns, and the one dovetailed drawer is directly below with burlwood face and lovely bronze pull. The lower two shelves are inlaid with intricate floral motifs, all inlaid with satinwood, birds eye maple, and other woods. This beautifully delicate etagere with intricate marquetry, a process of inlay that gained popularity in France in the late 16th century, has artful richness framed with ornate gilt brass work around the perimeter of each level.
