Oil on Board
A brilliantly executed mid-century modernist style figurative nude composition, painted in oil onto board.
The focal point of this painting is a nude female figure, delicately seated upon a red platform and set against a backdrop of blue with a hint of green on the right. Her facial features are deliberately omitted, directing the viewer’s attention towards her introspective gaze as she looks downwards with serene contemplation.
The artist has used a naturalistic colour palette, which seamlessly blends soft hues to paint the figure. Subtle gradients skillfully capture the contours of her body, enhancing the sense of realism and depth.
The overall use of muted colours infuse the artwork with a gentle and calming vibe, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in its quiet beauty.
This oil on board is housed in a very well-suited wood frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
