This richly gilded jewelry chest has a rectangle-shaped body decorated overall with foliate and scrolled elements; the front, sides and hinged top inset with turquoise champlevé enamel panels decorated with floral geometric motifs; the lid opening to reveal a lined interior with blue velvet, raised overall upon four cyma-curved supports terminating to scrolled feet. The four upper corners of the casket's body are topped with busts of cherubs on its angles.

The piece is solidly built, with detailed finishes and meticulous ornamentation, featuring a lock on the front. See less
