This retablo features oil paint on a sheet of tin and depicts the Virgin Mary clutching her breast with a knife pointing towards her heart in reference to Luke 2:35, “ and a sword will pierce through your own soul also.” This piece is rendered with what were once bright colors and is made in the manner of Spanish Colonial paintings.
