Beautiful vintage cross-stitch embroidery of right-facing male peacock. The lowered tail feathers swirl like the train of a ball gown! Exceptionally fine needlework on natural linen, in shades of gold, bronze, and brown, with royal blue highlights. Custom conservation framing in carved bronze color wooden frame, with bronze fillet and gold suede mat. Needleworker, pattern source, and date unknown.
Sight 7 1/2" high x 5 1/2" wide. Overall 17" high x 13 1/4" wide x 1 3/4" deep. Wire for hanging.
