The lithograph print exhibition poster is published by Au Palais Des Papes, printed in France in 1978 in an unnumbered limited edition by Mourlot Paris, on the occasion of the " Fifty Years of Lithography at The Mourlot Workshops " exhibition at the thirty-second Festival D'Avignon.

It features a famous portrait artwork image of Francoise Gilot, originally created by Picasso in 1949 titled " Figure Au Corsage Raye ", copyright Mourlot, Henri Deschamps gravure lithographer, Mourlot Imp. S.P.A.D.E.M.

This is a rare opportunity for true Picasso and Mid Century Modernism fans and collectors both as this coveted image fine art exhibition poster is long out of print and very scarce to find.

Pablo Picasso ( 1881 - 1973 ) was a Spanish born painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, poet and playwright who spent most of his life in France. He is regarded as one of the most important and influential artists of The Twentieth Century. Exceptionally prolific throughout the course of his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments, and became one of the most well known figures in Twentieth Century Art.

The venerable famous printing house of Imprimerie Mourlot Paris was founded in 1852 by The Mourlot family. It is known worldwide for its fine art lithography printing, and one of their most important contributions was to be the art poster. Mourlot became the place where posters were prepared and produced as works of art in their own right.

The Festival D'Avignon is an annual arts festival held in the French city of Avignon in the southeastern Provence region set on The Rhone River. It takes place every summer in the courtyard of the historical palace Palais Des Papes. Founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar, it is the oldest existent festival in France.

The rare out of print fine art lithograph print framed French Modernist exhibition poster measures 19 3/4" W X 30" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern rose gold tone matte satin finish metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent condition. The poster print is in excellent clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and some light visible wear in the lower bottom corners.
