Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown opal white ribbons within taupe gray color Italian art glass decorative fazzoletto / handkerchief vase. Documented to designer Fulvio Bianconi for the Venini company. There is a full "Venini Murano Italia" acid etched signature underneath. It is made with a very rare taupe or dove gray opal glass base, with 2 different opal white Zanfirico designs in an alternating pattern. One has a twisting design and the other a laced net design. Other similar fazzoletto designs are pictured in the Bianconi book, and the Franco Deboni "Venini Glass" book. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or curio cabinet. I have not seen this color before. Mid-century era. There is an internal fracture on one of the pulled rim pieces. Mentioned for accuracy, and prices accordingly for the rare design. Measures: 3" tall x 4" x 3 3/4" across.
