This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Looking Authentic Antique American Primitive Stoneware Storage Jug. It is Embossed with a Number 2 Confirming its Two Gallon Liquid Storage Capacity. The Front is Embossed with the Well Documented Upstate New York Maker "N. WHITE & CO. BINGHAMTON". It is Rendered in a Classic American Style Jug Form. It has a Very Unusual and Attractive Textured Salt Glaze Exterior. The Front of the Jug has a Large & Elaborate Stunning Deep Cobalt Blue Color Hand Decorated Stylized Flower Decoration. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. These Types of Jugs were Commonly Used to Store Liquids such as Ciders, Vinegar, Ales, Liquors & Spirits, Spring Water Etc.
It is in Excellent All Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully. It has No Damage - No Repairs. Note that it Has Some Surface Sags & Dips ( See Front Flower & Top Handle & Spout Areas ) That Would Have Occurred in the Kiln Firing Process. It Also has Some Surface Glaze Imperfections Here and There but These Would have Occurred in the Making - Kiln Firing Process as Well. Stoneware Pieces Like This were Fired in Very Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time and These Types of Kiln Flaws are Quite Common. It is in Strong - Sound and Perfectly Usable if so Desired.
It Measures Overall Approx. 13 Tall x 9 Inches Long - Wide.
