A very compelling form, this classical "Savonarola" chair is crafted entirely by hand using forged iron that shows every trace of the blacksmith's work throughout the surface. They are in a cerule form with hammered spade feet, the legs joined with a central pivot point at the center of each cyma-curvature, this joint decorated with a wonderful iron rosette on both the front and back. The seat and seat-back are slung with leather that is affixed with rawhide lacing, the seat-back decorated with two beautifully formed finials with ruby-red and part gilt highlights to the surface. These are being sold individually, but we acquired these as a set of four and may still have several available. The images are of only one of the four chairs, but they are all identical in overall condition and form.

Condition Report:
Distressed wrought-iron with loss to polychroming and part gilding throughout; incredibly strong and stable; leather is modern and in good condition with only minor wear. See less
