This bespoke Turtle and Crane masterpiece is a vibrant resurrection of the Hollywood Regency spirit, reimagined in our Atelier to capture the theatrical maximalism of Tony Duquette. Starting with a vintage porcelain ginger jar of unknown origin but undeniable quality, we have applied a rich, multi-layered finish that mimics the depth of ancient lacquerware. The base coat is a striking, cardinal red—the color of prosperity and drama—distressed to reveal glimpses of history beneath. We then elevated the form with partial gilding applied by hand, meticulously layered to create a textured, shimmering patina that catches the light like a hidden treasure found in a Venetian palazzo.
