The fine art lithograph print is printed in France in 1946 by Les Edtions Du Chene Paris, as part of a French portfolio of limited edition Matisse lithograph prints titled " Matisse Peintures 1939 - 1946 ". The vintage lithograph print features an artwork image originally created by Matisse in 1942 titled " Danseuse Asise Dan Un Fauteuil " ( Dancer Sitting in Armchair ).

Henri Matisse ( 1869 - 1954 ) The French born artists is known for both his sense of color and fluid aesthetic. Matisse is commonly regarded, along with Picasso as one of the most important artists who helped to define and influence radical Contemporary Art of The Twentieth Century. His mastery of the expressive language of color and drawing won him recognition as a leading figure in world Modern Art. Artworks by Matisse are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

The lithograph print plate image measures 10 1/2" W X 8 1/2" H, on a page that is 14 7/8" W X 11" H. The print is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand on the top edge. Behind the print plate on the page is the title, date, and size of the original artwork.

The rare out of print limited edition French lithograph print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling and very light minor wear to the page backing.
