Found in France, a heavy and substantial 19th century, French cast iron fireplace coal hod, in the shape commonly referred to as a “turtle” due to the shell shaped body and splayed legs. Unique and hard to find, perfect for a fireplace accent and excellent in a garden!! Heavy, solid, in excess of 40 pounds. circa 1890. At one time had a shovel, but it is no longer available.
