Handmade in the village of Chililico, Hidalgo, Central Mexico, primitive lightly fired earthenware, figural sculptural form, depicting a dark green stag deer and lighter green dog, painted with white lines, raised cavity on the back for holding a candle.

The deer example appears to be significantly older than the other, likely early 20th century or earlier, while the dog likely dates to the mid-century.

Good original unrestored antique / vintage condition with beautifully aged heavily worn patina. Typical folk art imperfections.
