Constructed of brass with a lacquered goat skin exterior, this umbrella stand takes the form of a rectangular prism. The front surface features a lithographic print depicting a Renaissance-era scene, enhanced by hand-applied touches. Structural elements include a pair of handles affixed to the sides, four supporting legs below, and an aperture at the top to insert umbrellas. An identifying label located underneath provides details about the stand's origins and maker. The execution displays an attention to both aesthetic and functional qualities.

Aldo Tura was an Italian furniture designer best known for his mid-20th century creations that demonstrated a distinct fusion of design influences and fine craft techniques. Born in 1909, Tura began manufacturing his signature furniture pieces in 1939 in Lombardy, focusing on limited, handcrafted production. Typified by rich materials, sculptural forms, and artisanal construction, his singular designs blended elements of Art Déco, Art Nouveau, and Minimalism with Baroque and Surrealist elements in modern ways.
