An elegant Art Nouveau porcelain vase, probably dating from 1910-20, later converted to a lamp, the body decorated with bright … Read more An elegant Art Nouveau porcelain vase, probably dating from 1910-20, later converted to a lamp, the body decorated with bright yellow Iris on an off-white ground with a ring of overlapping iridescent dragonflies on an avocado ground top and bottom, the bottom edged in a turquoise ring, all resting on a wooden Asian base. Iris and dragonflies were popular motifs of this period. The vase is probably of European origin but it hasn’t been taken apart to see if it is marked. It has been weighted to give it stability and professionally re-wired. The silk shade with gold trim border has a few minor stains but is a beautiful addition. The vase measures 18” tall; total height is 29”. The shade is 17.5 wide and 8.5” deep. The base is 7” wide. A beautiful survivor of the Art Nouveau period. See less
