A 19th century German spool cabinet. Cabinet with two drawers with gold writing on the top and drawers that reads Ackermanns Schlusselgarn.
It appears it would have been on the counter so the top would face the customer for them to read and the drawers would face to the shop keeper. There are hand written labels on the ledge of each drawer and the lower drawer has much of the writing worn off. Perhaps from brushing up against the shop keeper throughout the day.
The wood is very old but in excellent condition and the knobs also appear to be original. The piece is very sturdy all around, with wonderful patina.
