Crafted from solid Yumu (Northern elmwood) with beautiful wood grain patterns and overall covered with a golden wood finish, this chest features a simple yet elegant design partially inspired by apothecary medicine chests with multiple small drawers. Its two raised everted ends which resemble altar coffers and the corner spandrels carved with Lingzhi fungus motif (symbolizing the combination of spiritual potency and essence of immortality in Chinese culture) and refined with elegant beading lines add sophistication, while four drawers and a lower storage compartment with a removable shelf and detachable door panels offer convenient organization. Both cabinets are in pristine condition with minor used marks such as wear to the surface and edges, fine joints gaps and minor finish touch-ups
