Famous for its Venetian and Murano glass creations, Italy has been a center of glassmaking since Roman times. This hand blown wine bottle is great example of midcentury Italian glass artistry. Rustic, artisanal, and beautiful in sunlight. Circa 1965. Perfect condition.
Alligator has a gold or amber body with a crackle finish, hand applied legs, green glass eyes and back ridge. Bottle rests sturdily on its feet. Relatively heavy. No cork; bottle is empty and clean. No label, but this is an ORVIETO white wine bottle from Italy. Measures 17" long x 6.5" wide x 4" tall.
