The vase … Read more A stunning Swedish Orrefors Kraka net patterned vase by renowned designer Sven Palmqvist (1906-1984) dating from the 1950’s. The vase measures 5”H x 5 1/2”W and is in excellent condition. The heavily made vase has a heavier, rounder shaped body, a funnel shaped neck, and a beautifully polished opening. He created the Kraka technique with the fishnet in the glass in 1944 which is inspired by the old Nordic legend of Kraka when she appeared before Ragnor Logbrok to answer his riddle of how you can be “neither dressed or undressed”? Kraka solved the riddle by being wrapped in a fishnet. The vase has a polished bottom with etched Orrefors Kraka Nr. 540 Sven Palmqvist. See less
