Booths was created in the 1850's by Thomas Booth, who produced earthenware sanitary and dinnerware in Tunstall. Since then, ownership of the Booths name has passed through several firms, including the Pearson Group and Ridgway, until becoming a part of Royal Doulton in 1971, where it was used until the mid-'80s.

Booths gained their name by making high-quality earthenware known as Silicon China, which is thin enough to compete with expensive porcelain. During the early 1900s, Booths manufactured various copies of classical blue goods using this Silicon China body, which were often stamped with the initials CB. A lovely piece. See less
