This fabulous, unusual design solid oak, pierced and carved arm chair, from the 1890’s-1910, is an excellent example of the … more This fabulous, unusual design solid oak, pierced and carved arm chair, from the 1890’s-1910, is an excellent example of the transition between the Arts and Crafts esthetic to the Art Nouveau expressiveness. Traditional A&C Quarter-sawn oak provides the familiar, reliable structure with simple straight lines for the frame, but sweeps into impossible to ignore geometric circles, swirls and waves, with cutouts and piercings leading the way into the next generation of modern design.
The seat and back are covered in a beautiful creamy white, light brocade with tiny embroidered pink and blue flowers, recovered some time in the late 80’s/early 90’s, and have survived without issue. The condition is excellent; no stains, pulls, snags or other flaws.  Don’t miss the opportunity to be the proud owner of this comfortable, unique chair.
