This design showcases two layers of different depth in a circular formation of 12 nails each circle for total of 24 steel square cut nails.

Mark not found. Vintage mid-20th century following a brutalist-style. I have not seen another.

Square-cut nails are fundamentally superior to modern wire nails because of their superior holding power which is 4 times stronger than the modern circular wire nail. Square nails are 2.5 times as expensive and are used in historical restoration projects.

Tremont Nail Company, of Mansfield, Massachusetts is the only remaining American nail company producing square-cut nails. Today, they produce square-cut nails out of steel, rather than iron.

The company was founded in 1819. They are unique as they still use their own vintage nail-cutting machines which date back to the 1850s. See less
