Offering another great example of French artistry in hand-manufacturing from the “Golden Age” of the early 1900s, this hand-blown art glass bowl by Rethondes. There were several top-flight lighting manufacturers at the time -- Muller, Schneider, Degué being among other prominent makers.
All the metal is made of solid brass and patinated by Time herself. I’ve chosen to leave it as you see it (it’s been nominally cleaned up and waxed), but it could be polished out to its brass color or plated however you like (these matters up to you). The canopy bears the basic French woven “panier” (basket) style.
Rewired and fitted with an American standard-sized socket.
Measurements: hanging 23” long as shown (links can be taken out to shorten the length) and having a diameter of about 13 ¾ inches, 35 cm. The bowl’s in perfect condition.
