This chest is a fine piece of federal era Americana and is constructed of White Pine and Poplar and retains it’s original condition including the hardware and the step down back splash. The first couple of photos were taking in outdoor sunlight which makes the chest look a little bit lighter than it actually is. There are no repairs or replacements on this piece and the original full coverage dry red grained paint is in excellent condition for the age. One large drawer over three graduated drawers and one board top and sides.

Condition: Areas of blemishes to the original dry painted surface. One drawer pull replaced with a similar one. Some drawer pulls separated from the back plates. Drawers are all working smoothly. Two drawer pulls are separated from their back plates. Nice tight solid piece. Excellent patina. See less
