It came from an unbound album, Le Livre d'Or des Roses (Golden Book of Roses) published in Paris. It is a numbered plate (#31) which comes with an accompanied paper denoting the artist, the name of the rose and its founding date and founder. This hybrid rose is considered a "heritage" rose, classified as an "old rose". Note the beauty of the blossoms and their striking pink coloring. The pink tones are quite exquisite and the variated green leaf hues add a strong contrast. The floral is done on thick stippled paper which lends a wonderful quality and interest to the chromolithograph. Please zoom in to see this. This is a RARE beauty! It is in pristine antique condition with age and history...strong color, no rips, tears. 9.75 x 12.5 inches in size.
